How To Repay Life Insurance Loans
How do loan repayments work on the Sacred Account?
I had someone ask me this yesterday and so I want to write about it!
The Sacred Account is a specifically designed type of High-Early-Cash-Value-Dividend-Paying-Whole-Life-Insurance. (You can see why I prefer to just call it The Sacred Account now!)
I use it like a savings account and when I deposit money into it I receive the following benefits:
Guaranteed growth
Guarantee against loss
Protection from taxation
Protection from creditors
Protection from lawsuits
Protection of privacy
My money is fully backed
My money is insured against insolvency of the company I have it with
They money that I deposit into it grows at about 3–5% per year on average for the rest of my life, tax-free.
I can borrow against 70–90% of my account at a small interest cost and my money will still continue growing at that 3–5% rate even while I am using it.
Now when I borrow, I actually want to pay myself back.
Which means I only borrow for things that either reduce expenses or produce income so that I can pay myself back easily with those funds.
A loan repayment is different than a contribution or deposit into the account.
Think of a deposit as a “front end” contribution. I am putting money into my policy as a contribution and those funds are growing and can be borrowed against.
A loan repayment is like a “back end” contribution. I am repaying a loan into the policy and those funds are not “growing” newly…because they never stopped growing when I borrowed them. But those loan repayments do reduce interest and I can borrow against the funds I’ve repaid.
A loan repayment can be done manually by logging in to my online portal for my Sacred Account, or it can be setup on an automated basis, or I can even call in to the insurance company and repay a loan that way.
My rule with being my own banker is that I never borrow without repaying and so it is vital to know how and why to repay a loan.
